Preparation of Decommissioning Funding Plans

The Academy is ready to prepare the required Decommissioning Funding Plan document for submittal to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or Agreement State agency on behalf of your licensed facility. We follow the guidance provided in NUREG-1757 “Consolidated Decommissioning Guidance,” Volume 3 Appendix A.3. It suggests that in preparing a decommissioning funding plan, a licensee

• Prepare a site-specific decommissioning cost estimate.



• Determine the means that will be used to adjust the cost estimate and associated funding levels periodically over the life of the facility.



• Submit the required documentation.
