Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Mentoring Program

The expert and highly experienced radiation safety professionals of the Academy are available to provide mentoring services to you and your facility. Perhaps you just need someone to call on when issues arise.

Ten Hours of Mentoring Services for New RSOs

Since many new RSOs come to our course without much experience, we would like to provide RSO course graduates with mentoring oversight to assure that your radiation safety program runs well. One of our Certified Health Physicists will provide ten hours of consultation to include a review of your:

• radioactive materials license,
• license application materials,
• radiation safety program,
• annual program audits,
• Radiation Safety Committee minutes,
• dosimetry,
• instruments,
• surveys,
• shipping and receiving,
• inventory,
• training,
• or any other aspects of your program where help may be needed.

Peace of Mind

The Radiation Safety Academy wants to be more than just a training provider. We want to work with you on an on-going basis to assure that you have a good radiation safety program. We often get calls to fix programs, after deficiencies are found by a State or Federal inspection. However, we would like to work with you before problems arise. We would like to assure peace of mind so you do not have to worry about inspections. Since we conduct over 8,000 inspections a year, we know what to look for. We also have extensive experience in understanding regulatory requirements and licensing for radioactive materials. We have on-staff experts in all areas of radiation safety ready and waiting to help with your needs.

What is the Cost?

To help new RSOs we are offering this 10-hour mentoring service for $1,000 which is a 50% discount from our normal consulting rate of $200 per hour.

How Can You Receive RSO Mentoring?

If you are planning to attend one of the Academy's upcoming RSO courses, we can add the mentoring fee to your RSO course fee for a total fee of $2,995.
